Bucs AAU Baseball Program
Welcome to the Bucs HS Baseball page. The Bucs AAU out-of-season program runs in the fall, winter, and summer seasons and is not affiliated with CIF sports. Relevant announcements and other information will be posted here throughout the seasons.
IMPORTANT: If you are interested in playing baseball during the 2024-2025 season, please complete this form asap.
Contact Coach Hood directly and regularly if you will be participating in other fall/winter sports.
News & Info
11.03.24 - Players participating in other winter sports (i.e. soccer, basketball, wrestling)
The CIF winter regular season ends on February 14, and can continue for a couple weeks after that for playoffs. The spring baseball season begins on February 15, with the first games beginning as early as February 22. So you can see there is not enough time to properly ramp up your arms between seasons.
It is important that all players make time to do arm care work while ramping up their arms on their own if not at baseball workouts during the winter. The bands, wrist weights, plyo ball work, and throwing program should be done at minimum twice per week beginning at least 4 weeks prior to February 15.
In the past, players have participated in some winter ball scrimmages when not in conflict with their winter sport. I am open to consider this option again if players have taken time to get their arms ramped up on their own. Participation will also be based on the numbers and need/s of the teams.

2024 Incoming Freshmen Info
The first day of school is August 12th and there will not be any summer workouts for incoming freshman prior to school starting. Incoming enrolled freshmen will be able to participate with the high school baseball program during 8th period athletics. Workouts, routine building, conditioning, etc. will start a week or two after school begins.
Players involved with other MB in-season fall sports should check-in with Coach Hood at the beginning of the school year to express their interest, make sure he has their contact info, and get baseball program information. This will help ensure all players, regardless of other sports participation, come in prepared with an undertanding of the baseball program.
After a player’s freshman year, they can become eligible to play with our summer league/American Legion Team where we have 3 games per week for about 3-4 weeks following the spring season.
