2024-2025 Baseball Program
IMPORTANT: If you are interested in playing baseball during the spring, please complete this form asap.
Contact Coach Hood directly if you will be participating in other sports.
To provide outside-of-season baseball opportunities, it is important that all parents, guardians, and players understand that these programs (fall, winter, and summer) are not affiliated with CIF sports. All baseball outside-of-season activities are run through the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU). All players will need a current AAU member ship with the Bucs Baseball Club code. 24-25 Club code will be available after August 15.
The 2025 CIF baseball season occurs this spring with tryouts tentatively set for Feb. 08, and the last regular season contest on May 16. Playoffs will continue until the first week of June.
Please see the Bucs HS Page for required gear and more information
2024 Incoming Freshmen Info
The first day of school is August 12th and there will not be any summer workouts for incoming freshman prior to school starting. Incoming enrolled freshmen will be able to participate with the high school baseball program during 8th period athletics. Workouts, routine building, conditioning, etc. will start a week or two after school begins.
Players involved with other MB in-season fall sports should check-in with Coach Hood at the beginning of the school year to express their interest, make sure he has their contact info, and get baseball program information. This will help ensure all players, regardless of other sports participation, come in prepared with an undertanding of the baseball program.
After a player’s freshman year, they can become eligible to play with our summer league/American Legion Team where we have 3 games per week for about 3-4 weeks following the spring season.

2024 Prep Program
Thank you for your interest in Bucs Baseball and the HS prep teams.
Providing baseball development opportunities for future high school baseball players has been a primary focus of the Bucs Baseball Program over the last several years. We are happy to announce the Bucs Prep Baseball Program will be collaborating with former Professional player of 10 years, All-American Pitcher for The Ohio State University, and local resident, Jake Hale, and his JackHammers Baseball Program.
In meeting with Jake, we shared a similar philosophy and necessary core values to enhance player’s personal and baseball growth. We believe the JackHammers Program is equipped to provide an outstanding prep baseball experience for 13-14u players. The goal of this transition is to provide a solid year-round baseball program to prepare players for their high school careers. It also allows the high school staff to dedicate more time to further build the high school program. As this partnership unfolds, prep-age players can expect to get the best of both worlds, with regular, year-round instruction and the opportunity to periodically workout with high school coaches present. Physical, and more importantly mental skill development in a competitive environment will be a focus of the prep program to equip players with the tools for attaining high school success. Prep players will get to meet high school coaches and learn some of the daily routines.
Tryouts for new players will be at Mission Bay Pony Fields, Bob McEvoy, 2639 Grand Ave, San Diego 92109.
There will be ongoing tryouts on Wednesdays and Fridays, beginning 7/10/24
Please reach out to Jake Hale's off the field coordinator, Chuti Hale at 808-269-2426 or Chuti.SDJH@gmail.com directly with questions and to confirm your interest.
